CAPA partnered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CASL) to organise an International Conference focused on Integrated Reporting. Integrated Reporting (IR) is a new approach to business reporting developed by the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) aimed at meeting the evolving needs of businesses and their stakeholders.
Last year, the IIRC launched a discussion paper 'Towards Integrated Reporting - Communicating Value in the 21st Century'. This publication established a 'line in the sand' in that it set out a proposed International Integrated Reporting Framework for reporting to stakeholders that would radically change current reporting. For more information or a copy of the discussion paper and framework, visit the IIRC website at: www.theiirc.org
The Conference presented a comprehensive overview on the birth and development of IR. Panel sessions discussed the benefits and challenges of implementing IR with examples of experiences and lessons learnt.
