New CAPA Chief Executive
admin

The CAPA Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Blood as Chief Executive.

He brings with him finance, business and accounting experience, together with broad leadership skills. He had 27 years with global Big 4 accounting firms, including 16 years as a Partner. In that time he worked across corporate, government and not-for-profit sectors. His career focused on external audit, however, since the mid 1990's has concentrated on building internal audit and business risk advisory practices.

Brian initially qualified with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. He is a Life Member of CPA Australia and a Fellow of the the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. In 2003 he was honoured with a Centenary Medal for services to the accounting profession in Australia.

Brian has a deep understanding of the profession. He was President and Chair of CPA Australia in 2002 and served on the Board for 3 years, having been involved with the organisation for a number of years previously. CPA Australia today has over 120,000 members.

Brian has outstanding knowledge and experience in CAPA and the Asia-Pacific region, having served as the Australian Representative and Board Member since November 2007. He stepped down from this position to accept the role as Chief Executive.

The President, Kamlesh Vikamsey, commenting on his appointment said "The appointment of Brian provides the opportunity for CAPA to continue to grow and succeed as a Recognised Regional Organisation. His strategic skills, energy and enthusiasm made him a truly outstanding candidate."
